How is an LED street lighting project planned?

An LED street lighting project proceeds in four steps: assessing the current situation (pole height, spacing, road width), a lighting calculation (with Dialux-type software), luminaire selection and a no-site-visit quote, then production and shipment. Asso works with the same team through all of these steps — you don't need to find separate suppliers for each one.

Technical criteria for a street lighting luminaire

The core criteria for a street lighting luminaire are luminous flux (lm), luminaire efficacy (lm/W), IP protection class, impact resistance, colour temperature and driver quality. Residential areas typically use 3000K or 4000K; 4000K is common on main arteries to boost perceived brightness.

The luminaire housing should be die-cast aluminium, dissipate heat well, and its gasket system should keep out water and dust for years.

Automatic dimming after midnight

In LED street lighting, smart dimming automatically lowers the light level once traffic drops. Methods like StepDIM and AstroDIM work without extra cabling, while DALI and 1-10V connect to central automation systems. This adds a further layer of savings on top of what LED already brings.

A quote straight from the factory

Getting a quote directly from the company that manufactures the street lighting luminaire shortens both the price and the lead time. Because we plan our own production, we can set the delivery date together, matched to your project schedule. Spare parts and service also come directly from the manufacturer, with no hidden costs down the line.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What colour temperature should be chosen for LED street lighting?

3000K gives a comfortable, warm light in residential areas; 4000K gives higher perceived brightness on main roads. 5000K and 6500K options can also be produced per project.

Can a street lighting luminaire be fitted to an existing pole?

Yes. Because our luminaires are made with different bracket options, they generally fit existing poles and arms with no modification. Just note the pole diameter on the quote form.

Is a site survey needed for an LED street lighting project?

Not in most projects. Sharing the road dimensions, pole height and spacing is enough for the lighting calculation and quote.
